Clay Villa Plantation House and Gardens is located 4 miles west of Basseterre, the capital of St. Kitts. The Plantation is situated between the villages of Palmetto and Challengers in the parish of Trinity.

Clay Villa Plantation/Estate is better known to residents (including taxi's and buses ) as John Gumbs Residence (Gumbs being the family name).

For land based and cruise visitors who only want to visit Clay Villa and have made their own transport arrangements, please contact us in advance for an agreed time and date. The entrance fee for a tour of the House, Museum and Gardens is US$ 15 Adult;. For all visitors ,the gift shop, pub and washroom facilities are open for their use.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Only Cash and/or Traveller’s Cheques are accepted as payment at Clay Villa Plantation Payment will be made at Clay Villa Plantation.
• All entrance fees and taxi fares are included in the total price of all tours.
• Minimum of 4 persons required for a tour (this does not include children under 2 yrs).
• Depending on cruise schedule some tours may start in reverse order. This does not include beach tours.
• All tours require some moderate walking so please wear comfortable walking shoes and sun protection.
• Beach chairs and/or umbrellas are not included in tour prices.                   
• For tour groups of 40 or more persons, an original water colour painting will be given to those groups as a gift from the Carib Artist who paints exclusively for Clay Villa Plantation.
• Clay Villa Plantation House & Gardens is an Associate Member of the F.C.C.A.
• A complimentary drink is served to all visitors after a tour of Clay Villa Plantation.
• Children age 0 – 2 enter free.
• Tours may be cancelled if minimum participation levels are not met.
• All visitors are asked to be on time at the agreed collection point give or take 10 minutes.

The COLOUMBUS GIFT SHOP at CLAY VILLA PLANTATION has an attractive selection of gifts, ranging from original watercolour art, handbags, souvenir T-shirts, fashion jewellery, and a variety of other interesting merchandise for sale. All proceeds from the gift shop goes to the upkeep and well-being of the animals living in the

Plantation Gardens.
